BoCA Application Product Design

Boston Cognitive is a digital healthcare platform company that provides advanced cognitive assessment and management tools for healthcare providers to screen, measure, and manage cognitive function. As the product designer I've been tasked with bringing these clinical quality products to the regular consumer.

The BoCA Application allows anyone who is concerned about cognitive decline to evaluate their health and view their scores against a similar age and gender demographic.

This project involved designing the application from start to finish including the established Boston Cognitive design language and careful consideration to this particular audience demographic. The clinically validated test already existed and this project was to wrap the test in an easy experience for the average non clinician.

Six Dots: Consumer PWA

We built Sixdots during COVID: a fee-free ordering platform leveraging Overproof's menu data and partnerships to enable contactless in-house dining for restaurants and bars without typical app fees.

I led a 4-person design team from logo to launch in 3 months, coordinating cross-functional efforts across development, product, marketing, and sales. Oversaw end-to-end design, from research and architecture to high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes, while managing handoffs and supporting simultaneous build-and-sell operations for both user and merchant platforms.

A failed partnership forced us to build POS integrations from scratch on an aggressive timeline. The market was oversaturated with delivery apps consumers didn't want to download, and while takeout services were established, dine-in tech experiences were clumsy.

Our goal was to build a modular, scalable design system adaptable to various restaurant formats and white-label use. Prioritize seamless contactless dine-in ordering that complemented staff interactions while matching competitor delivery and takeout features. Minimize merchant friction and technical complexity. Launched as a progressive web app eliminating downloads, we built a modular, scalable design system for a contactless ordering platform adaptable to various restaurant formats and white-label use. Prioritizing a seamless dine-in experience that complemented staff interactions, we matched competitor delivery and takeout features. Using Material UI, it delivered a familiar interface with intuitive flows for ordering, bill splitting, and payment. The system integrated multiple POS and payment providers and transformed the merchant portal from a builder into a simple review tool.

Overproof Software Suite

Overproof is an enterprise software for the beverage industry that uses data-powered insights to drive business growth. Launched in 2020, it initially provided field teams with data collection and basic CRM functions through a desktop portal and mobile app. By 2023, the data set had expanded significantly, offering deeper insights into accounts and market trends nationwide. Leveraging AI, Overproof evolved into a smarter field operations assistant, providing actionable insights, suggestions, and enhanced operational tools for brand ambassadors, sales reps, and managers.

As the Design Director for Overproof, I took a comprehensive approach to guiding our research and design strategy, ensuring we had a comprehensive understanding of what needed to evolve. I oversaw cross-functional collaboration with marketing, sales, development, customer success teams, and customers to identify gaps between what was being promised, sold, and actually used. From the initial discovery phase through launch and post-release improvements, I led and supported a focused four-person design team, ensuring that our work aligned with both user needs and business goals.

Our goal was to empower field teams with insights and planning tools that boost daily efficiency. We aimed to deliver strategic market intelligence that helped both managers and field users understand broader trends and how their work contributed to larger objectives. By leveraging ai-driven personalized recommendations, we sought to enhance decision-making and help field teams achieve their goals more effectively.

The Insights page now delivers real-time trends and venue intelligence, scaling with subscription tiers and supporting data-driven strategy. We introduced a daily planner with AI-generated task suggestions and route optimization that reduces planning friction, allowing field teams to focus on goal-advancing activities and significantly boosting productivity. The Goals page transformed goal tracking through integrated account segmentation, history, and ai-recommended accounts, giving teams clearer progress visibility and stronger accountability. Enhanced CRM features with richer account profiles, notes, contacts, and history deepened customer insights while improving cross-team collaboration. A new design system elevated visual consistency and usability across the platform. These improvements drove a 32% increase in existing user engagement and reduced post-onboarding customer support tickets by 24%.

Boats Group OEM Reporting Suite:

For nearly 30 years, Boats Group has led the marine marketplace industry, reaching 22 million monthly users across 11 brands. In 2019, my team worked closely with the VP of Product to launch a new data offering for OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), aimed at unlocking insights into consumer behavior across all platforms. Prior to this, OEM revenue was limited to ad placements, and data was siloed within individual platforms. Seeing the untapped potential of our consumer data, we developed a reporting tool that enabled OEMs to better understand market dynamics, optimize distribution, and make more strategic marketing investments.

My team collaborated with the Head of BI, VP of Sales, Account Management, and Development to take the OEM Reporting Suite from concept to launch in just two months. Key challenges included managing a high-cost data project with tight constraints, navigating complex and voluminous data to surface only the most valuable insights, and ensuring reliability and consistency to build trust with OEMs through accurate, validated data.

Through visualization work and user testing, we identified the most valuable data came from three key portals: Yachtworld, Boat Trader, and Boats.com. Focusing exclusively on these sources simplified our quality checking process and delivered more confident results. Based on our Tableau proof of concept, we developed a scalable component library that kept us future proof because it enabled easy addition of new data categories. The resulting dashboards provided rich visualizations for impressions, views, connections, and leads with flexible filtering by portal, date, brand, and model. We balanced high-level trend analysis with drill-down capabilities so executives could identify patterns while analysts accessed granular data.
